The Tourist Route - branding, video editing and website build.
The Tourist Route is my personal travel blog, built from the ground up to showcase the world through a tourist’s lens. I created the brand, visual identity, and website, and produce all content myself, from filming and video editing to publishing honest, informative reviews of destinations and attractions. The platform is designed to help travellers plan unforgettable trips with clear, engaging insights and well-researched itineraries.

Bringing purpose to travel through bold branding, video storytelling and a tourist's perspective.
The Challenge
Travel has always been a passion, but we wanted to give it more purpose. Instead of simply taking snapshots or ticking off landmarks, we envisioned a creative outlet that gave each journey meaning. Not just for ourselves, but for others planning their own adventures.
In a world flooded with travel influencers and vloggers, we saw an opportunity to do things differently. While many creators focus on luxury flights and local dining, we set out to tell stories from a more grounded point of view. One that celebrates sightseeing, classic attractions and the everyday experience of being a tourist.
The Concept
That was the starting point for The Tourist Route, a travel blog and content platform built around the idea of helping real people plan memorable, accessible trips.
We created a bold, simple brand identity centred on a directional sign. A visual nod to classic wayfinding. Paired with a strong colour palette, the brand stands out in an oversaturated market. The tone of voice is clear, helpful and always honest, with a focus on sharing practical travel insights.
Design & Build
We designed and developed thetouristroute.com in-house, crafting a mobile-first experience that pulls together travel blogs, video content and location-based itineraries.
The site is structured around destinations and activities, not luxury hotels or restaurants. This keeps the content focused on the core idea of living the tourist experience and sharing it in a way that others can benefit from.
Storytelling Through Video
All video content is filmed, directed and edited by moondial Digital. Filming solo brings its own challenges, but it’s in the edit where the storytelling really comes to life.
We understand the importance of B-roll, rhythm and narrative structure. Every video captures the essence of the place, building a mood with atmospheric cutaways, thoughtful pacing and detail that helps viewers feel part of the journey. Each vlog is a complete story, not just a highlight reel.
Publishing & Performance
We publish our long-form video content on YouTube, using carefully crafted titles and bold thumbnails to maximise discoverability. Emotional hooks, curiosity and visual clarity all play a part in making the content stand out.
We also create platform-native content for TikTok and Instagram, where quick-hit travel inspiration and visual storytelling are key to engagement. Every channel links back to the core blog, creating a unified content ecosystem around The Tourist Route.
Outcome
The Tourist Route is more than a passion project. It’s a purpose-led travel brand, built from scratch by Moondial Digital. It showcases our full range of skills, from identity design and UX to storytelling, video production and digital marketing.
It’s a space to explore our love of travel, while demonstrating creative thinking and content craft in action.
